we just wanted protein to taste good.
this is the story of how a frustrated shopper and a Michelin-star alum ended up making the chicken tenders the frozen aisle actually deserves.
i couldn't find what i was looking for.
I spent years reading labels looking for one thing: food that was actually high in protein, made with clean ingredients, and tasted like something I actually want to eat.
Every product was either packed with protein but tasted like cardboard, or tasted great but was loaded with fillers and ingredients I couldn't pronounce. It felt like the industry had decided that healthy food just wasn't allowed to taste good.

then i met Chef Antonio.
When I started looking for someone who could actually bring this to life, I wasn't looking for a food scientist. I was looking for someone who understood taste, someone who'd trained at the highest level and still cared about making food that made people happy.
Chef Antonio Camilli, a Michelin-star restaurant alumnus and restauranteur, shared the same frustration. He believed that if you could make a tasting menu extraordinary, you could make a groceries extraordinary too. So we started testing. And testing. And testing. Until we developed the yummiest high-protein chicken tenders.

food you love, made better for you.
betterprotein isn't a diet brand. We're not here to make food that's "good for a healthy option." We're here to make food that's just good, period, that also happens to deliver serious nutrition.
Our mission is to take the food people already love and reimagine them with clean ingredients, real protein, and great taste. Starting with chicken tenders. Then expanding to every corner of the kitchen that's been underserved by the "healthy" food industry.

the non-negotiables.
If it doesn't taste like food you'd choose over the "regular" version, we won't make it. That's why a Michelin-star alum leads our recipe development.
No additives, no preservatives, no ingredients you need a chemistry degree to understand. If you wouldn't cook with it at home, we don't put it in our products.
We don't slap "high protein" on packaging that doesn't deliver. Our products exceed the >20g/100g threshold: 2x the protein of competitors with 1/3 the carbs.
